Our Club Hut
Our well-loved cottage Glanafon, has been with the club nearly 60 years (January 2024) and has been steadily renovated and improved over the years. It retains its traditional character with wooden and stone floors but also meets modern safety standards.

Most recently we have invested a considerable amount in a new wet room and shower, as well as a combi boiler and radiators where needed.
The cottage is available for group and individual hire.
Members of kindred clubs pay £9 per night each and others £12; this includes gas and electricity.
Hut Custodian: Dave Hughes
Our club hut, GLANAFON, is a converted and modernized miner’s cottage backing on to the River Ogwen, with views towards Elidir Fawr. The location just off Bethesda High Street combines easy access to shops, real ale serving pubs and eateries with walking access into the Carnedd mountain range.
Bethesda is ideally situated as a base for a wide range of outdoor activities across Snowdonia and Anglesey such as hill walking and scrambling, climbing, mountain biking, cycling, canoeing, sea kayaking and sailing.
Bethesda is also home to the Zip World, the longest zip wire in Europe and the fastest in the World. And in poor weather you can explore local mines and other places of historical interest.
The ‘bunkhouse’ type accommodation comprises 14 beds (an 8 bed and a 4 bed dorm with additional bunks and sofa bed in the living room, fully equipped kitchen and dining room with two cookers and a microwave, a wet room with shower and toilet, a separate toilet, additional shower and a unisex ablutions area with wash basins.
There is a drying room and storage space for bikes and canoes at the rear of the building. Hot water is available in the kitchen and in the washing area. Heating is provided by a combination of modern gas fires and radiators. There is free parking nearby.
